He said the Ministry of Education will de-register any form four candidate who will be sitting KCSE Exams by the end of this year if at all he or she participate in a strike.

“I want to take this opportunity to warn those students especially those in form four who are candidates in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education not to engage in any form of strike because we will de-register them and will not sit the national examination,” Atebe said.

The Kisumu County Education boss said the County has been very peaceful this year and no unrest has been witnessed in the schools except for the one at Otieno Oyoo High school.

“Any student who will attempt to threaten the rest of their colleagues who are in school to study will never be spared at all cost,” Atebe added.

On the issue of Otieno Oyoo high school where a dormitory has been allegedly burnt by a section of students over unknown reason, the Kisumu County Director of Education said the ministry of education is investigating the matter and already a few students have been identified and will be picked for questioning as suspects in the matter.

He said the school has decided to ensure that all the students remain in school so as to continue with the learning activities.

He urged the schools management should engage the students in dialogue and know the issues that may be affecting them while in school.

“There should be a good relationship between the teachers and students hence this will make learning conducive,” he added.

Otieno Oyoo High School fraternity in Kisumu county woke up in a rude shock after one of its dormitory got partially burnt today at about 6:00 am.

About 54 students lost personal effects as well as bedding, text books and exercise books in the morning inferno that gutted part of their dormitory.
