Bright and needy Girl from Obunga Slums in Kisumu needs school fee to join form one

A BRIGHT but needy 14-year-old girl from Obunga slums in Kisumu city may fail to join form one at Moi Girls High School Vokoli in Vihiga County due to lack of school fees.

Jackeline Akinyi Oduor who sat her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education{KCPE} last year at Migosi Primary school and scored 352 marks says her parents cannot afford to take her to the school where she has been offered a chance in form one due to lack of school fees.

She says her aim is to join form one at Moi Girls High school-Vokoli in Vihiga county and study.
She now says her ambition to join the school is very slim since her parents can’t afford to take her there because they lack school fees, adding that she appeals to any well-wisher to come to her aid in order get school fees.

Akinyi who has been accompanied by her mother when they addressed the press in Kisumu today said it is very unfortunate that she might miss joining form one.

“I am appealing to any well-wisher to come to my rescue so as to help me raise school fees for my secondary education. I am a bright but very needy girl from Obunga area and believe can do better in Secondary school and even in University,” Akinyi says.

Akinyi adds that she aspires to be a medical doctor, adding that she has really been touched by the plight of many people staying in slum areas who most can’t afford better health care services.

“I would to study well and become a doctor after my university education so that I help the less fortunate people in the society,” she further says.

Her mother Ann Akumu says she is really willing to take her third born daughter to secondary school where she has been admitted to join but can’t do so due to lack of school fees.

She appeals for any kind of help that can enable her daughter proceed with learning to secondary school.
