“It is on that basis that as elected leaders and in consonance with other stakeholders do hereby commit to champion the conversation on the BBI report going forward,” they said.

They say the next week’s meeting to be held in Kisii town is very important as it is a step towards mobilizing the citizenry to actively participate in the second round of BBI report enrichment.

“Further, the constitution is very clear on the provision of citizens’ participation on any fundamental issues that touch on public decision making processes,” they further said.

They further say the meeting will bring together the Governors, Members of the Senate, Members of Parliament, Members of County Assemblies, elders, religious leaders, opinion leaders, women and youth leaders as well as small scale traders and professionals from the region to robustly discuss the report and give their views as a region on the report.
