50 schools benefit from Covid-19 kits from a foundation

A total of 50 schools both Primary and Secondary in Kisumu County have so far benefitted from donation of Covid-19 kits from a Foundation.

Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation has distributed hand washing tanks, Sanitizers and face masks to 50 schools which is half of the targeted 100 schools in Kisumu County.

Addressing the press in Kisumu after donating the items to Otera Primary school in Kisumu East Constituency, the Foundation’s President Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu said the school is the fiftieth one to receive the distribution of the items.

Mwamu says the Foundation targets 100 schools within Kisumu County to get the donations from it within Kisumu County.

Mwamu says the donation has been so helpful in preventing the spread of Corona virus that its first case was reported in the country last year in March.

Mwamu says the public should be very careful and ensure they observe the laid down rules on Covid-19 to avoid its spread.

He urges the public to observe the curfew hours that was put in place for the 13 counties of the Lake Region Economic Bloc{LREB} as from yesterday June 18, 2021 to avoid contravening the rules and regulation.

“I want to urge our people to be very careful with the Corona Virus. This is because it is still with us and we must observe the Ministry of Health Guideline on Covid-19,” Mwamu says.

Mwamu has urged the well-wishers to help in donating such items, adding that a number of schools within Kisumu County still require such items to help in preventing the spread of the Corona Virus.

He says after visiting 100 schools while donating the items, the foundation will now embark on a program of helping the vulnerable groups in Kisumu County.

Last Month of May, the foundation visited Dunga Primary school in Kisumu Central where they donated the items to the school.

Two months ago, two more schools namely Angira Primary school and Saint Albert Angira Secondary school within Kajulu ward in Kisumu East constituency benefitted from the donation.
