Residents in 13 Counties told to
observe early curfew hours that begins today
RESIDENTS of
the 13 counties within the Lake Region Economic Bloc {LREB} have been urged to
strictly observe the curfew hours that begins today at 7 Pm till 4 am to help
curb the spread of Covid-19 disease.
Former President of the East African Law Society James Aggrey
Mwamu says by going home earlier, it will prevent confrontation with the law
enforcement officers who will be enforcing the Curfew rules.
Addressing the press in Kisumu today after donating hand washing
tanks, Sanitizers and face masks to Otera primary school in Kisumu East
Constituency through Mwalimu James Japheth Mwamu Foundation, Lawyer Mwamu said
Members of the public should learn to adhere to Ministry of Health protocols on
Covid-19 disease.
He says the Covid-19 disease is now real in Kisumu and its
environs hence the need to strictly observe the laid down guideline that helps
to curb the spread of the disease.
“I still want to appeal to the residents of Kisumu County and
the other 12 counties which have been declared as hotspots for the Covid-19
disease to take it seriously that the issue is real and they need to fully
observe the laid down guidelines from the Ministry of Health,” Mwamu says.
The Ministry of health yesterday gave a notice of curfew beginning
today for 13 Counties from the Lake Region Economic Bloc which have been
declared as hotspots for the Covid-19 disease where the curfew is set to begin
from 7 pm to 4 am.
The 13 counties include Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira,
Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet and Kakamega.
Lawyer Mwamu at the same time has sent his message of condolence
to the family of the late Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo who passed on early this
week.
He has described him as a great debater and a dedicated leader
who always spoke his mind without mincing words
