Another senior staff at County Assembly of Kisumu passes on

 

The County Assembly of Kisumu is in a state of mourning again after another senior staff has passed on only a few hours after its Human Resource Manager died on Saturday evening.

 

The County Assembly of Kisumu deputy Clerk  Nelco Sagwe passed on yesterday at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu barely a few hours after his colleague Arch Bishop Lazarus Obera died on Saturday evening after a short illness.

 

Speaker of the County Assembly of Kisumu Elisha Jack Oraro and Clerk of the Assembly Owen Ojuok say the officer passed on yesterday morning after a short illness.

 

“Mr Sagwe's death comes only few hours after we lost our Senior Human Resource Manager, Mr. Lazarus Obera,” reads part of the press statement to the newsrooms.

 

Speaker Oraro and Clerk Ojuok have described the late Sagwe, a PhD finalist student at the University of Nairobi, as a highly experienced, dedicated and disciplined civil servant whose transformational leadership will be missed by the Assembly and particularly the staff whom he mentored.

 

“On behalf of Members of the County Assembly of Kisumu, the Assembly leadership and staff, we condole with the family and friends of Mr. Sagwe for the loss and pray that God will grant them comfort during this trying moment,” the statement further reads.

 

Meanwhile, Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o has sent his message of condolences to the families of the two departed employees at the County Assembly of Kisumu.

 

Governor Nyong’o says he has learnt with sock and sorrow about the deaths of two senior officials at the Assembly.

 

 

“The two officers were dedicated senior workers and their sudden demise is a terrible blow not only to the Assembly but to the County as a whole. I wish, on behalf of the government, to send my sincere condolences to the Assembly leadership, friends and relatives of the two officers.

 It is even more saddening that Mr Sagwe had just completed his PhD studies at the University of Nairobi and was awaiting graduation. May God rest their souls in eternal peace,” Nyong’o says in a press statement.

 

The Assembly's Human Resources Manager, Arch Bishop Lazarus Obera died on Saturday while the Deputy Clerk, Nelco Sagwe lost his life yesterday after a short illness.
