Officials told to maintain integrity as National examinations kicks off

All officials administering this year’s national examinations across the country have been told to maintain the highest standard of integrity of the exams that has kicked off this morning.

Cabinet Secretary in charge of Mining and Blue Economy Salim Mvurya says the Government is fully committed to ensure that the integrity of the national examinations is not compromised at all.

Speaking in Kisumu Central Sub-county today where he witnessed the official opening of the exams Container for papers of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education {KCPE} for class eight and Kenya Primary Schools Education Assessment {KPSEA} for grade six, Mvurya urged the various officials administering the exams to perform their roles with a lot of integrity.

“We want you to conduct the exams with uttermost professionalism because in this exams this is where our children get nurtured for their talents,” Mvurya says.

Mvurya says the Government is very keen to ensure that the exams are carried out without any form of malpractice, adding that any official who engages in any form of malpractice will personally held responsible for such.

“I want to urge the security team, center managers, Supervisors and invigilators to ensure that the integrity of the exams is not comprised at all cost,” Mvurya adds.

Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has been accompanied by the Principal Secretary nominee for Basic Education Belio Kipsang, Kisumu Central Deputy County Commissioner Hussein Alaso and other senior Government officials.

In Kisumu County, a total of 29,458 are sitting for the Kenya Primary schools Education Assessment {KPSEA} for Grade Six while 29,995 are tackling the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education {KCPE} for Class eight.

A total of 22,961 candidates will sit the Kenya of Secondary Education {KCSE} from Friday this week up to December 23 this year.
