Ruto urged to tame his Cabinet Secretaries making roadside decisions

President Dr. William Ruto has been urged to immediately tame some members of his cabinet who were recently appointed in various positions not to keep on coming up with roadside decisions as recently witnessed.

Former President of the East African Law Society Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu says some of the members of the National Government cabinet have declaring some roadside decisions contrary to the principle of collective responsibility.

Addressing the press in Kisumu in reaction to some cabinet secretaries sentiments on the issues of not intending to fund University education and about the issue of increasing salaries to the public servants as well as extending the Standard Gauge Railways, Mwamu said such decisions contain weighty matters hence must be done after a cabinet meeting approving them.

Mwamu says even the statement issued on the issue of giving police uniforms without pockets was very unfortunate.

The Lawyer says it is now time for the President Ruto to reign on his cabinet secretaries to ensure that they don’t pronounce roadside decisions, adding that it has been confusing the public.

“It is very unfortunate that some cabinet secretaries have come up with roadside decisions on some weighty matters and a National Budget has not been done,” he says.

He adds that there must be an organized government where they meet, makes a decision and such becomes official position of the government.

Mwamu’s sentiment comes barely a few days after Education Canibet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said the Government will continue with funding of the Public Universities contrary to his ealier statement he issued where he said there would be no funding to public universities.
