It is possible Kalenjins and Luos can work together politically

TWO Leaders have hinted that there is a possibility that two communities in the country can work together politically.

Cabinet Secretary in charge of ICT and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo and Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii say it is very much possible for both Luos and Kalenjins to work together and chart their feature political paths while pursuing a common goal.

Owalo says the two communities belong to the same language group that is Nilotes and it is very easy for them to work harmoniously.

Addressing congregation in a church service during United Hera Churches Fellowship at Rakombe Church of Saviour in Rarieda Sub County within Siaya County, Owalo says this makes it possible for the two communities to work together even in terms of their political way of life.

Owalo says  President Dr William Ruto means well for this country and is fully committed in ensuring  that the country is united under his leadership as the fifth President.

On his part, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii says the History of both the Luos and Kalenjins have made the two communities work together in many aspects of life.

Governor Bii has recounted how the Kalenjins community fully supported then ODM Party Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga during the 2007 General Election.

“As a result we have worked together for many years and this is not the first time. In 2007 we stood with Hon Raila and it was almost man to man voting for him,” he says

He says President William Ruto is now reciprocating and has ensured that in his Government of Kenya Kwanza, more than 100 people from Luon Nyanza have been given senior positions, adding that this is a great gesture.

Bii says what is important is bringing cohesiveness, Unity and forging forward towards development, adding that there are a number of challenges facing the country that needs to be dealt with.

He says it is possible for the Luo Community from Nyanza and communities in Rift Valley work together.

He has praised the Luo Community for their firm standing and pointing out issues whenever things are not right in the country.

“In politics unthinkable can happen, after the post election violence of 2007, you could not  imagine that the Kalenjins could work together with the people from Mount Kenya,” Governor Bii says.

Bii says Devolution is the best thing that has happened to Kenyans, adding Kenyans are able to reap the fruits of devolution since its inception a decade ago.
