Govt told to invest in other alternative Sources of energy

The Government has been told to invest in other forms of energy.

Former President of East African Law Society Senior Counsel James Aggrey Mwamu says the Government should think outside the box and have various alternative sources of energy for the country.

Addressing the press in Kisumu, Mwamu says the Government considering investing in other sources like green energy is very vital.

Mwamu says other alternative sources of energy as advocated by the Paris Protocol that talks about promotion and enhancement of green energy is good, adding that the protocol also talks about alternative renewable energy.

“The Green energy is now the main thing in the world and we must embrace it. We therefore urge the Government of Kenya to consider investing in the green energy,” Mwamu says.

He says investment in the alternative sources of energy should be done on wind energy and nuclear energy among others.

Mwamu says the Government should harness the oil that was discovered in Turkana and North Eastern to ensure the economy of this country run well.

Mwamu’s sentiment comes barely a few days after fuel shortage has been reported in some parts of the country as a number of motorists complain about some fuel outlets hoarding the commodity with a target of increasing the fuel price.
