MCA aspirant in Ksm mobilize youth to register as voters ahead of Polls

An Aspiring Member of the County Assembly in Kisumu has embarked on seriously mobilizing the youth to register as voters ahead of the next year’s General Election.

The Aspiring MCA for Market/Mlimani ward on Orange Democratic Movement {ODM} Party Victor Jajok says he has taken the initiative to ensure that more youth register as voters ahead of the next year’s polls.

Addressing the press in Kisumu today after visiting the Kisumu Central Constituency IEBC offices while accompany the youth to register as voter, the Aspiring MCA said they are also mobilizing the youth who have not collected their Identity Cards to do so and also register as voters.

Jajok says his team will continuously help in the mobilization of people to continue registering as voters as well as ensuring that those who have not registered collect their IDs and further register as voters awaiting the next year general election.

“We are mobilizing the youth to register as voters and telling them the importance of participating in the electoral process as a voter,” he says.

He adds that they will visit various places like churches and mosque as well as public barazas to talk to the youth on the importance of registering as voter and taking part in the voting during the electioneering period.

He says it is the youth who will majorly propel people to positions they are aspiring for hence the need to take their registration as voters in the next polls seriously.

“It is sad that we will be going for an election without our party leader Raila Odinga but I want to tell the youth that all is not lost because there are young people who are coming up to leadership positions and the people who will propel them to power are the youth,” Jakok further says.

Jakok says youth need to do a lot in the forthcoming general election, adding that they need empowerment, employment among others.
