Kisumu set to host 7th edition of County Assemblies Sports Association's Games

Kisumu County is set to host the Seventh Edition of the County Assemblies Sports Association’s games next month of October.

The Games are set to kick off next month and will be hosted by the County Assembly of Kisumu after its Speaker officially becomes the CASA Games Patron taking over from Meru County Assembly Speaker who has been the Patron of the Games during the Sixth Edition.

The Chain has officially been handed over to County Assembly of Kisumu Speaker Elisha Oraro who now becomes the official patron of the games.

The games will be hosted from 25th to 31st October, 2026 in Kisumu City.

 

This event brings together Hon. Members and staff from all the 47 County Assemblies and provides a platform to engage in sporting activities, promote unity and to exchange ideas and best practices around the core mandate of legislation, representation and oversight.

 

The handover of the CASA Chain now gives Kisumu the official hosting rights of this year's CASA extravaganza.

 

A number of dignitaries from the County Assemblies Forum (CAF), the Senate, CASA Executive officials, Hon Speakers from various County Assemblies and Kisumu County Government officials have attended the today’s event held at the New County Assembly of Kisumu’s precincts. 

 

Speaking during the handover ceremony of the Chain, CASA new Patron Elisha Jack Oraro said Kisumu is very much ready to host the games.

He has welcomed all the teams from the various county assemblies to Kisumu to take part in the games that will last for one week.

He has appealed to the various county assemblies to make their subscriptions towards the event, adding that Kisumu if fully set to host it.

Oraro adds  that Kisumu is the first County in Nyanza region to host the CASA Games, adding that this will be a great occasion for various counties to bond while in sports and culture.

He says about 6,000 participants are expected during the event.

Kisumu Deputy Governor who was the Chief Guest during the ceremony has assured the participants of the County’s full cooperation, security and enjoyment during their stay within the Lake side City of Kisumu.
