Kenya Institute of
Management Re-launch its branch in Kisumu.
THE Kenya institute of Management has re-launched it branch
in Kisumu.
The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the
Kenya Institute of Management {KIM} Mureithi Ndegwa says Kisumu Branch has been
in existence since the year 2003.
Addressing the press in Kisumu during the official re-launch
of the branch, Ndegwa said the re-launch is meant to expand the branch and the
services it offers.
He says one of the areas being tackled is business
incubation where the institute intends to partner with the County Government of
Kisumu.
“The most important thing now is to work together so as to
help in raising productivity in the entire country,” Ndegwa says.
Ndegwa says the Institute is fully approved by the TVETA
hence has a potential of offering various courses.
He adds that the new
rules of Kenya National Qualification Framework states that even if someone
obtains an E grade at form four level he
or she can proceed and progress in education since they cannot be just
condemned from rising to the highest level of education.
“You can actually rise to the level of a Ph.D holder
regardless of the grade you obtained in your form four national exams,” he
adds.
Ndegwa adds that programs they offer are approved by the
Government, adding that one can use the certificate of Diploma to proceed to
University from the Kenya Institute of Management.
He further adds that there are some programs they will be
partnering with county Government especially on women in leadership.
“My appeal to the residents of Kisumu County and those from
the neighbouring counties to make the KIM Kisumu branch their hub for studying
and getting proper training,” he further adds.
Kisumu Governor who officially re-launched facility said the
county Government of Kisumu will be partnering with the institute on the issue
of business incubation.
The Kenya Institute of Management {KIM} was started in 1954
and has been offering trainings on aspects on leadership and management to both
professionals and those who are fresh from Form four.
It has a total of 19 branches countrywide and it is a
membership based organizations.
The Kisumu Branch has been re-launched at Mega City Building
where it will now have its news classes and offices.
