Kisumu MCAs slam
Senator Outa over his “disrespectful” remarks against Governor Nyong’o
A SECTION of Members of the County
Assembly of Kisumu have slammed Kisumu Senator Fred Outa over what they have
termed as “disrespectful” remarks from him to Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o during
the requiem mass for the six Bouncers from Ahero who were killed.
The Members of the county Assembly led by their leader of
Majority Party Kenneth Onyango said the last Friday’s utterances by Senator
Fred Outa to Governor Prof. Nyong’o were not in a good taste at all.
Addressing the press today at the County Assembly precinct,
the about 35 Members of the County Assembly said they have been dismayed by
lack of political hygiene among some politicians especially the Kisumu County
Senator whom they have accused of taking advantage and allegedly abuse the
Governor.
Kisumu County Assembly Leader of Majority Kenneth Onyango
says as an assembly they are strongly condemning the Senator’s actions of
abusing the Governor in his presence during the said requiem mass for the six
bouncers from Ahero who were killed in Busia County on November 15 this year
where they went to offer private security to a funeral.
Onyango says Senator Outa actions was uncalled for hence
stands condemned in the strongest terms possible.
“It is now time we push politics to the back banner and wait
for the appropriate time since Kisumu County residents now needs development
and not mere politics,” the leader of majority says.
He says the County Assembly of Kisumu will not be used as a
launching pad for the year 2022 succession politics in Kisumu County.
Majority Chief Whip Priscah Auma Misachi urges Senator Outa
not to take himself as a tool where he has turned the Governor a punching bag.
She has accused the Senator of creating various nicknames to
the Governor, adding that this is uncalled for.
“Leaders are anointed by God and if you disrecpect one
leader then that is a sign of disrespect to God the Almighty,” Misachi says.
Misachi says the Governor was elected by the residents of
Kisumu County and is currently serving his first term in office hence should be
allowed time to deliver his election pledges to the people.
Deputy Majority Chief Whip Jacktone Ojwang Ogendo says Senator
Outa should fully concentrates on his duties in the Senate and not to engage
the current Kisumu Governor in unnecessary political altercations.
Nominated MCA Aslam Khan ask Senator Outa to tow the ODM
Party line and ensure that they work together with the Governor instead of
engaging the Governor in unnecessary abuses.
Market/Mlimani Ward Member of County Assembly Seth Kanga who
is also the ODM party Chairman in Kisumu Central Constituency says there is no
need to engage the Kisumu Senator in funerals or any other social gatherings
but will engage him when the appropriate for politics come.
Kanga says the issue of the Senator allegedly insulting the
Governor should stop forthwith, adding that there should be respect among the
leaders.
But three Members of the County Assembly have dismissed the
allegations that the Kisumu County has been insulting the Governor.
The trio Julius Ngenga{Muhoroni}, Gad Olima{West Nyakach}
and their Onjiko/Awasi ward counterpart Otieno Ngeta say the MCAs should engage
in meaningful activities that will help to address issues affecting the areas
they represent rather than engaging in non-issues.
The three says it is not the duty of the MCAs to engage in
political differences between the Senator and the Governor.
They say both the Senator and the Governor belong to ODM
Party hence if they have a difference among them on how the county is being run
then the party’s top organ can summon them so as to help them iron the issues
affecting the two leaders.
Last Friday, during the requiem mass at Boya Primary school
in Nyando of six Bouncers who were killed in Busia Kisumu County Senator Fred
Outa reportedly told the Kisumu Governor to his face that he is failing Kisumu
County Residents as nothing tangible is taking place in terms of development
since he took over leadership as the second Governor of Kisumu County after
August 2017 General Elections.
This has reportedly not gone well with a section of leaders
within Kisumu County including some members of the County Assembly who have
slammed the senator accusing him of being disrespectful to the governor.
Ends.
Very unfortunate
