Celebrations in Maseno school as it doubles number of As in this year's KCSE

The Maseno School in Kisumu County has posted exemplary performance in this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education as a total of 23 candidates score straight mean grade of A.

According the school's Deputy Principal Peter Nyawach, the school has made remarkable improvement by doubling the number of Mean grade of As from ten in last year to 23 this year.

He says the school has managed to improve its performance this year as compared to last Year's where they have shown tremendous improvement in its mean grade.

He says last year's school mean score was 8.69, adding that it has improved since they were targeting a mean score of 10.5.

He has attributed the good performance to the high discipline, hard work from both teachers and students.

"This year, we have posted a good results because we have doubled the number of As we have from 10 of last Year to 23 this year," Nyawach says.

He says this year, the school managed to present 476 candidates who have sat this year's KCSE exams.
He says their top candidate Tonny Owuor who has been ranked fourth position nationally was expected to perform well in the exams.

"We have taught these Boys and revised with them till the end and the result we have gotten has not surprised us because we expected them to do well in the exams," he added.

In Chulaimbo High School, Four candidates managed to score mean grade of A minus.

The school's Principal Dancun Owiye says the top candidate has managed to get a mean grade of A with 80 points.

He has attributed to the school's good performance to hard work.

He says the school has also managed to get 9 candidates with a mean grade of B plus.

At Joel Omino Secondary school in Kisumu Central, a total of 16 candidates have managed to get minimum entry grade to the University after scoring a mean grade of C plus and above.

The School’s Principal Richard Nyayal says this has been an improvement from last year where only 8 candidates managed to get minimum entry grade to the university.
