Kondele residents get early Christmas Gifts from their ward Rep

More than 1,000 residents of Kondele ward in Kisumu County have received early Christmas gifts from their Ward Representative as they join other people from around the world to celebrate this year’s Christmas.

Chants of songs and dance rented the air when the area Member of the County Assembly Joachim Oketch Omieno popularly known as Swagga arrived to distribute the Christmas gifts to the area electorates. 

Addressing the press during the occasion held at the Ward’s office today within Kona Maji area in Manyatta, Swagga said this has been an initiative he launched four years ago before he was even elected as a member of county Assembly in Kisumu so as to celebrate Christmas with the area residents.

Swagga has used about shs 185,000 towards the initiative which has greatly benefited the electorates of the ward, adding that it has benefitted about 1,400 residents of the area.

“This is an annual event that we do to give the electorates of Kondele ward especially women to help them celebrate Christmas in style,” he says.

He says this is a way of sharing with the people within the community, adding that this is a good gesture which help to have ground touch with the electorates.

Among the items the residents have received include a packet of wheat flour and cooking oil.

During the occasion, the residents praised their MCA for the initiative, adding that they are fully behind him as their elected leaders.

The residents vowed to continue supporting the good work the MCA has been doing three years since he was elected as the area ward representative.

Swagga also used the opportunity so as to tell off his opponents to give him time and ensure that good services are delivered to the electorates of the area.

“I want to take this opportunity to tell my opponents who are busy criticizing every development that is taking place within the ward to kindly give us time and ensure good service delivery to the people of Kondele ward,” he adds.
