Parents advised not to overspend during this festive season

PARENTS across the country have been advised not to overspend during this  festive season so  that  they don’t overstrained with issues of paying school fees come next month when schools reopens.

Former President of the East African Law Society James Aggrey Mwamu says most parents have a tendency of overspending their income during festive seasons like Christmas among other without thinking of school fees payment in advance to avoid inconveniences when schools re-opens.

Addressing the press in Kisumu to pass a message of good will to residents of Kisumu East Constituency during this Christmas, Mwamu said it is not in bad taste to celebrate during such occasion but engaging in things like impulse buying is not good at all.

Mwamu says proper planning greatly helps at this time hence the need to have it to guide parents during such a moment.

Mwamu urges parents to give priority to school matters since it is only remaining one week to the reopening of schools across the country for third term.

He says next time is too short and needs proper planning for school’s activities to run smoothly after being supported by parents that including prompt payment of school fees.

“I want to urge fellow parents not to engage in overspending their income especially this time when we are celebrating Christmas and the New Year. This is because we might be inconvenienced when schools reopens and we fail to pay school fees and other expenses needed towards our children’s education,” Mwamu says.

He urges those who have something which they can share with those who don’t have to do so with an aim of getting God’s blessings during the festive season.

Mwamu at the same time urged motorists across the country to be very careful while driving during the festive season not to cause accidents while on the roads.

“We are kindly asking those driving to various destinations during this festive season to be very careful and drive without drinking alcohol,” he further adds.

Mwamu who has declared interest in vying for Kisumu East Constituency Parliamentary seat on ODM Party ticket during the next year’s polls to be held in August has urged the area residents to support his bid.

He adds that he has what it takes to be the next area Member of Parliament with the full backings of the constituents.

Mwamu says he fully supports the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga’s fifth stab at the Presidency in the next year’s polls, adding that Odinga is very much capable of succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta whose term ends after next Year’s General Elections.

“I want to urge Kenyans to vote overwhelmingly to ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga during the next year’s General Elections because he stands out to be the best one to succeed President Kenyatta as the Fifth President of our Country,” Mwamu says.
