CITAM engages Counties on Servant leadership
and good governance
The Christ
is the Answer Ministry {CITAM} Church has embarked on engaging various county
governments across the country on the issue of servant leadership and good
governance.
Presiding
Bishop of the Christ is the Answer Ministry Church Dr. Calisto Odede says they
have begun to engage Leadership of the County Governments across the country so
as to spearhead the issue of good Governance and Servant Leadership.
Addressing
the press after the Kisumu County Leadership Prayer Breakfast meeting held at
CITAM Kisumu today, the Presiding Bishop Dr. Calisto Odede said the issue of
good governance makes counties livable hence the need to enhance it across the
various counties in the Country.
He says the
Church has organized such meetings in ten Counties namely Mombasa, Marsabit,
Nyeri, Meru, Uasin Gishu, Kisii, Kericho, Nandi, Kisumu among others.
He says the
Church is encouraging the issues of good governance where they bring all the
people working together within the Counties as well as various stakeholders
like the business community and the Civil Societies Organizations.
“As a
church, we are bring together those who have been charged with the
responsibilities of managing resources at the County level together with those
other stakeholders so as to share with them the importance of good governance,”
Dr. Odede says.
He adds
that the Church is also sharing with them the issue of living with integrity as
well as adhering to the laws as they discharge their various duties.
The Bishop
further says that as they do so, they also enhance the atmosphere for peace
that helps to bring a livable environment within the various counties across
the country.
On her
part, Kisumu West Member of Parliament Rosa Akinyi Buyu says leadership without
God is null and void.
Buyu says
good leadership and enhanced security within the counties is very vital indeed.
The Kisumu
West Member of Parliament has urged the security agents in Kisumu to ensure
that the region is secure and remain peaceful before, during and after the next
Year’s General Elections.
She urges
fellow politicians from making utterances which can cause mayhem in the
country, adding that as politicians, they should be very watchful of what they
tell the electorates before, during and after the polls.
Kisumu
Central Member of Parliament Dr. Joshua Oron says creation of peace is very
vital before, during and after the next year’s polls.
Oron has
emphasized on the good values and aspirations as the Country head to the next
General elections.
“We are all
Children of God regardless of our statuses in the society and a nation that
prays together always stays together,” Dr. Oron says.
