It is time to deliver
to the electorates, Nyando MP tells his critics.
A MEMBER of Parliament has told his critics that it is now
time to deliver services to the people of his constituency who elected him
overwhelmingly in the last General Election.
Nyando Member of Parliament Jared Odoyo Okello says he has
embarked on various development projects within the constituency through the
National Government Constituency Development Fund hence urged those criticizing
him to give him time to deliver on such.
Addressing the residents of the constituency during the
Graduation Ceremony of 20 students from Nyando Tailored in Love, Okello said
those peddling rumors that he is no longer in touch with the electorates of Nyando constituency are
lying big time since he is ever present at the grass root as long as he is not
engaged in Parliamentary duties.
The Lawmaker says already under the NGCDF, he has initiated
a number of projects that include fencing and putting gates to various public
primary schools within the constituency.
He says out of 150 public primary schools, only 30 primary
schools still remains unfenced under the project, adding that the project will
be completed soon thereby making all the public primary schools fenced and have
gates under the project.
“Out of 150 public primary school in Nyando only 30 are
remaining unfenced and without gates but we will soon finish doing the fencing
and fixing gates under this project,” Okello said.
Okello adds that some roads within the constituency that
falls under the NGCDF are being repaired, adding that Ahero-Ombaka and
Korowe-Nyang’ande roads are in the pipeline.
He says time for politics is not now hence the need to
concentrate in doing various development projects for the electorates, adding
that when the right time comes politics will take center stage in the year 2022
when the next General Election is expected.
Okello has asked those politicians who are crisscrossing the
constituency while campaigning to unseat him to do so at the right time and not
now.
“I want to ask my opponents who are crisscrossing the
constituency while telling the electorates that I am not around here to stop
confusing them because I am ever-present here if not doing my duties in
Parliament,” Okello adds.
He further adds that the residents of the Constituency will
judge him with the kind of development he will have initiated within the five
years from the time he was elected in August 2017.
