The fight against
corruption should not be selective, Jubilee party activist says.
THE Ongoing fight against corruption in the country should
not be done selectively while targeting only a few individuals, Jubilee Party
activist has said.
Nyanza regional Coordinator for Jubilee Party Odhiambo Liete
says the current fight against the vice in the country seems to be targeting
only a few individuals.
Speaking to this writer today, Liete said the fight against
corruption should not take political dimension where politics is seen taking a
center stage then it is not a good move at all.
Liete says the fight against the vice should begin at the
office of the President, deputy President and all the offices, adding that it should
also cascade to the county Governments’ level and should not target only a few
people.
Liete says the buck stops with the Head of the State as far
as the fight corruption is concerned, adding that the President must be firm
against the fight on the vice and remain neutral while ensuring that no sacred
cow is spared.
“The fight against corruption in the country seems to be
targeting certain individuals and this should not be the case as it should be a
pure fight against the vice. It should be done as Kenyans so as to win against
the fight on corruption,” Liete says.
The Jubilee party official in Nyanza is of the opinion that
the President should be very keen if he wants to leave a good legacy hence the
need to be firm on the fight against corruption.
He urges the President to be aware of cartels that help in
perpetuating corruption, adding that such cartels should be dismantled at all
cost if the fight against the vice to be won.
Liete says that all the personal Assistants to all
Government officers should too be investigated as far as the issue of the fight
against corruption is concerned in the country, claiming that they seems to be the ones doing "dirty" deals.
“The Personal Assistants working for their bosses should be
investigated because they seems to know a lot happening which their bosses may
not know,” Liete says.
He urges President Kenyatta to work hand in hand with his
deputy President Dr. William Ruto so as to realize the Big Four Agenda which
should be a priority alongside fighting corruption in the country.
Liete says the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
Director George Kinoti and Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to
steer the fight against corruption without being swayed by any politician.
Liete at the same time urged both President Kenyatta and his
Deputy Dr. William Ruto to work together towards building this country to be
cohesive.
“The President and his Deputy were re-elected so as to
ensure that Kenyans have development, have peace among other good things. The
two should talk in one voice with an aim of uniting the country,” Liete adds.
