Clergy, Kisumu Jua Kali artisans mourn Moi

A CLERGY from Western Kenya region and Members of the Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans Associations have mourned the fallen former President Daniel Arap Moi who died last week and will be buried tomorrow.

Superintendent General of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God  Church in Kenya Patrick Lihanda has described the former head of state as a leader who loved peace and unity.

Lihanda says the late President Moi did not discriminate any religion in Kenya during his reign as the president of the republic of Kenya for 24 years.

The clergy says the fallen former head of state managed to contribute to the building of many churches across the country regardless of their faith.

Lihanda has urged political leaders to emulate the late President Moi’s love for the church in the country, adding that it is good for leaders to know God for them to serve the public diligently.

On the other hand,Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans Association has also eulogized the late President terming him as a very generous leader who really helped many less fortunate people across the country.

Through their Chairman Jacob Hussein, the Artisans lauded former President Moi for donating them a land where Jua Kali land now stands along the Nyerere Road.

They described the former President as a caring person and indeed ensured that the informal sector like Jua Kali thrived and helped those who depend on artisanship.

“As Kisumu Jua Kali Artisans, we really register our message of condolence to the family of the late President Moi and say that May God rest his soul in eternal peace,” they say.
