Think about us, Jubilee Party supporters in Nyanza tells DP Dr Ruto

A SECTION of Jubilee Party supporters in Nyanza region now want the Deputy President to reach out to them and lend a hand because they have offered support for the party since 2013 General election.

The party supporters says it is high time the Deputy President Dr William Ruto consider them as part of those who have stood with the party from an area considered as Opposition stronghold during the two General elections of 2013 and 2017.

Speaking to this writer on phone today, Jubilee Party Nyanza Regional Coordinator Odhiambo Liete said a number of those supporting the party from the region seems to be neglected hence the need to think about them.

“What is worrying and hurting us is that we have walked and supported the party unwavering since 2013 to date, suffered a lot of problems and hardships incurred by your political opponents, till now you've never reached out to anyone of us with a caring hand,” Liete says.

Liete claims there are some of the party’s supporters especially in an area like Kisumu City who suffered for supporting it where they were harassed and their property destroyed but no one has addressed their plight.

“Some of our party’s supporters in Kisumu were harassed and their property destroyed in areas like Kaloleni in Kisumu ahead of the 2017 Polls but since then none has been reached even with a token of appreciation from the party,” Liete adds.

Liete claims that some of the people who are busy planning for the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto’s visit to Kisumu County are not having the interests of its supporters at the ground at heart, terming them busy bodies who just want to seize the opportunity to reap where they have not sown.

“These are the only people that voted for Jubilee party twice both in 2013 and 2017 against all odds and now those who are being hosted were not there with us when we suffered. Are these people you're hosting today more loyal than them? As a father, you can't feed the neighbor's children and leave your own hungry, charity begins at home,” he further says.

The Kisumu and Nyanza Jubilee Supporters sentiments comes barely a few days after word went round that the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto is set to visit Kisumu County in a move that the Orange Democratic Movement{ODM} Party has welcomed but has warned the DP not to insult ODM party Leader Raila Amollo Odinga during such a visit.

It is still not clear when the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto will visit Kisumu but speculation was rife that he could have done so during the last Weekend.
