Call for unity in Kisumu East as Kolwa residents endorse their son as next MP

RESIDENTS of Kisumu East Constituency have been urged to be united as the country prepare for the General Election in August this year.

Elders from Kolwa Central ward led by Komollo Clan patron Dr. John Rao Nyaoro has urged all the residents of the Kisumu East Constituency to be fully united and elect a focused leader as their next Member of Parliament on Orange Democratic Movement{ODM} Party come August this year polls.

Addressing the residents of Kolwa Central ward  during a meeting organized by Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu who has declared their interest for the Kisumu East Parliamentary seat on ODM Party ticket, the Komollo clan patron said all the Parliamentary aspirants from the clan should produce one person to contest for the seat on ODM Party ticket.

Nyaoro says as the patron he will talk to all the aspiring Members of Parliament from the area and will help in identifying the best candidate that will replace the current Member of Parliament Shakeel Shabir who is now serving for his third term as an MP.

Nyaoro says whoever the residents of Kolwa Central will front for the seat will have his blessings.

However, a number of residents from Kolwa Central who spoke during the meeting held at Ragumo Chief Camp Compound have endorsed Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu from the area terming as the person who has what it takes to be the next Member of Parliament for the Kisumu East Constituency.

Judith Oturi who also hails from Manyatta ward within the constituency have also endorsed Mwamu saying he has clear policies to develop the constituency when he takes over as the next MP after the August polls.

Oturi says Mwamu’s strategic plan that tackles on roads, Education, Security, Women and Youth Empowerment is one of its kind and if fully implemented within the constituency will greatly help to bring development within the said constituency.

Former Member of the County Assembly for Kolwa Central Kevin Oraro who also wanted to vie for MP’s seat but has backed off to support Mwamu’s candidature for the seat called a serious agreement among those sons of Kolwa Central who have declared their interests to vie for the MP’s seat and produce one candidate to face others from other region.

He says all the three people hailing from the area and have declared their Interest for the seat should come into agreement.

Oraro has challenged the Kolwa Central Patron Dr. Rao Nyaoro to help in uniting the three aspirants and come to agreement that will produce one candidate.

Already three people Kolwa Central area in Kisumu East constituency have declared their interest for the Parliamentary seat namely James Aggrey Mwamu, Charles Odhong’ and Nashon Oguya.

Former ODM Party Candidate for Kisumu East Constituency in the 2017 Election Nicholas Oricho has also declared his interest for the seat to vie on ODM Party. He comes from Kajulu area within the said constituency.

Kisumu East Constituency has five wards namely Kajulu, Kolwa East, Kolwa Central, Manyatta B and Nyalenda A.
