ID Cards registration in Kisumu East will continue as IEBC kicks of voter registration

The issue of registering residents of Kisumu East Constituency to get Identity cards will continue as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission kicks off the second round of voter registration exercise tomorrow.

Kisumu East Constituency aspiring MP Lawyer James Mwamu says the exercise which has been ongoing in Secondary schools and within the various wards in the Constituency has shown tremendous progress.

He says by yesterday,  the office of Registration of Persons within Kisumu East Sub County have done a marvelous job of registering students in schools who are 18 years and above to obtain IDs.

Mwamu who was speaking at Renja Secondary school within the Constituency said more than 50 students were registered to get the document at the school.

Mwamu has been coordinating the exercise of registering residents of Kisumu East constituency to obtain ID Cards in an exercise that has been conducted by the office of the registration of persons within the Sub-County.

At the same time, Youth from the Constituency have thrown their weight behind the Mwamu's bid to be the next area MP saying he has what it takes to be their next MP.

They say Mwamu has clear policy that will help in addressing the Youth agenda should he be elected the next MP during the August polls on an Orange Democratic Movement Party.

They have promised to back him fully for the seat right from the nomination process in the ODM party then voting him as the next MP in August.

Belinda Oloo from Nyalenda “A” ward says Mwamu has very good plans for the youth that include sponsoring those who can join vocational training colleges and other institutions of learning to further their studies as well as empowering those engaged in incoming generating activities as a way of getting their means of livelihood.

“As the youth, we are going to vote in someone who has our agenda at heart and will fully implement it when elected as the next Member of Parliament for Kisumu East and this is none other than James Mwamu who is going to contest on ODM Party ticket,” Belinda says.

Mwamu has appealed to the residents of Kisumu East to come out in large numbers and register as voters during the second round of exercise that will kick off tomorrow.
