Needy Girl joins high
School in Kisumu but still require assistance
A Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education exams candidate in
a school within Kisumu West Sub County has finally been admitted to secondary
school after a well-wisher paid her first term’s school fees.
Rose
Rachael Aketch who sat her KCPE Exams at Nyawara Primary school in Kisumu West
Sub-county and scored 342 marks has now joined St Theresas Kibuye Girls secondary
school after a well-wisher paid her first term’s fees.
The
well-wisher has been moved by the plight of the young girl after being
highlighted by the Citizens Voice
last week.
Aketch
was admitted to school on Monday this week after being accompanied by her aunt
Lilian Oliech and her primary school teacher Madam Linda Oguna.
Aketch
who talked to the media after her admission to the school has thanked the Forth
estate for highlighting her plight hence opened her ways of joining secondary
school.
“I am
really delighted after a well-wisher has sympathized with me and paid my first
term’s schools fees. I promise to work extra hard and achieve good grades for the
four years I will be here,” she says
The girl
who is a partial orphan has been staying with her aunt and life never been
possible for her since one of her parents passed on when she was a toddler.
“My
main aim is to further my education in secondary school and I sincerely appeal
to any well-wisher to come to my rescue and help in paying my school fees after
I have joined form one,” she adds
Lilian
Akinyi Oliech, aunt to Aketch says she begun staying with her at a tender age
and has been supporting her education in primary since nursery school days.
She has
thanked the Well-wisher who has come to the rescue of the girl, adding that she
prays that all will be well and God will she her through her secondary school
Education and beyond.
“Her
father passed on and I am the one who has been with her all along. We are
kindly appealing to any well-wisher to help us raise school fees in support of
her since she has now joined form one,” she says
Lilian
who the the Aunt to the young girl can be reached via her cell phone
number 0724 55 23 22 and she hails from South West Ward in
Kisumu West sub-county within Kisumu County.
Linda
Oguna who is her teacher at Nyawara Primary has described Aketch as a brilliant
pupil who if given a chance can excel in secondary school.
Oguna
says she is a well-behaved girl who is ready to learn, adding that she should
be supported to realize her dream of joining secondary school.
“The
young girl comes from a very vulnerable family and needs help to join secondary
and we therefore appeal to anyone touched by her plight to help in any little
way,” she says.
OgunaA
has thanked the well-wisher who has come to the aid of the young girl, adding
that more any other well-wisher can still chip in and lend a helping hand to
the young girl.
Oguna
is happy that the dream of the young girl joining secondary school has been
realized, adding that God will see her through her secondary school life and
beyond.
