Call for dialogue over dwindling education standards in Ksm East

There is need to address the dwindling academic standards in Kisumu East constituency, a lawyer has said.

Former President of East African law Society Lawyer James Aggrey Mwamu says a meeting of all stakeholders should be convened so as to talk about the way forward towards improving the education standards both in Primary and secondary schools within the constituency.

Addressing the press when he visited Orongo Secondary school within Kisumu East Constituency where he awarded the students who performed best in the Last year's KCSE exams and are proceeding to the university to further their education, Mwamu said a conversation must now be initiated towards the issue of poor education standards in the said Constituency.

He says a number of parents have begun being positive towards education of their sons and daughter, adding that parents should take time to monitor the progress of their children on the issue of academics.

He has urged professionals within the Constituency to come up together and work towards supporting those students who have qualified to the university but lack fees to join such institutions.

He urges those candidates who have qualified for university and other colleges to work hard while furthering their education.
