Only Nine CECs Members takes Oath of Office in Kisumu County.

Only Nine nominees as County Executive Committee Members have been sworn-in to take charge of the various departments in the executive wing of the County Government of Kisumu led by Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o.

In a ceremony presided over by the Kisumu Chief Magistrate Julius Ng’arngar, the nine has taken the oath of office after the County Assembly of Kisumu vetted and approved ten names.

One CEC nominee for the position of Finance Robert Kennedy Ouko Onyango who was to be in charge of Finance did not take the oath of office and non at the County Government gave explanation the reason as to why he did not take the oath of office.

Kisumu County Secretary Dr. Olang’o Onudi who read out the names only presented nine nominees for CECs positions who were then sworn-in in a ceremony presided over by the Kisumu Chief Magistrate Julius Ng’arng’ar and witnessed by Governor Prof. Nyong’o and his Deputy Dr. Mathews Owili.

Kisumu County Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o has urged the County Executive Committee Members to have a clear vision of performing in the various departments they have been appointed to.

Nyong’o says he expects the team to help him deliver his manifesto which he presented to the people of Kisumu County when he was campaigning to be the Governor.

He has urged them to commit themselves to deliver social services to the people of Kisumu County.

“We must at all times commit to deliver social services to the people of Kisumu County,” he says.

The nine who have been sworn-in include John Obiero Ogone in charge of Education, Information and Communication and Human Resource Development, Alice Moraa for Business, Energy and Industry, Thomas Ondijo Owiti for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Nerry Achar for planning, Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Gilchrist Fulbert Owuor Okuom for agriculture, Livestock, food and fisheries.

Others include Salmon Orimba in charge of Environment, Water, Irrigation and Natural Resources, Richard Dick Ogendo for Economic Planning and Development, Dr. Rosemary Obara for Health and Sanitation, Achie Ojany Alai for Tourism, Culture, Arts and Sports.
