Hotels in Kisumu gears up for this festive season, expects good profit.

A NUMBER of Hotels within Kisumu City are gearing up towards a good Christmas festive.

They are expecting a good number of clients this festive season.

One such hotel includes Jumuia Resort which says the facility is very much ready to receive a good number of guests this festive season.

The Hotel’s Assistant Manager Kevin Makori says the business has been very low especially during the Anti-IEBC demonstration in Kisumu City since August this year and the electioneering period as many clients did not visit the city during that period.

“The Month of August towards October was not a very good one to us as hoteliers in this region. This is because the Anti-IEBC demonstrations affected us since this facility could only get few clients but this coming Christmas festive, we expect a good number of clients,” he says.

 He says the situation has since reversed with the now elections coming to an end and expects a good number of visitors to troop in the hotel.

Makori says with the good number of clients expected this festive season, the facility expects to cash in well.

He says the facility has affordable rates this festive season hence this will make its clients being attracted there.

He says the facility has been able to beef up its security as well as reinforcing the security wall fence which was brought down by some unruly people who stormed the facility.

“We have been able to beef up security here and our clients will be very much safe when within this our premise,” he adds.

One of the managers of Shalom hotel Agnes Wafula says the facility too gears up to receive a good number of clients this festive season.

 Wafula says the hotel business has started booming hence expects to cash in well during this festive season.

She says the facility expect to recover what it lost during the electioneering period including the anti-IEBC demonstration.

She says the facility now offers a 20 percent discount for its clients who visit from Sunday to Wednesday during this festive season.

She has thanked the county Government of Kisumu under Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o for giving directions that no roads should be barricaded during peaceful demonstrations, adding that this will ease movement to and from the Kisumu City.

Other hotels which are also said to be gearing towards a good Christmas festive include Accacia Premier Hotel, Imperial Hotel, Kisumu Hotel, Royal Grand Swiz, Royal City Hotel, Sovereign hotel, Park View hotel,Victoria Comfort among others.
