Celebrations rocks schools in Kisumu over good performance in KCPE.

A NUMBER of both private and public schools in Kisumu County have today engaged in a celebratory mood after this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education Examination results has been announced by the Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.

A good number of both public and private schools have posted good results in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination results.

A visit to a number of schools reveals that a good number of the candidates who sat this year’s KCPE have scored 400 marks and above.

One of the school which have posted good results in this year’s KCPE is Golden Elite School which operates as a private school within Kisumu City.

It has 20 candidates who have scored 400 marks and above with its first candidate scoring 434 marks out of the possible 500 marks while the school managed to register more than 100 candidates in this year’s KCPE Exams.

In the year 2013, Golden Elite managed to produce the top KCPE Candidate in the country who scored 444 marks during that year’s KCPE. Dafine Akoth was admitted to Alliance Girls after such a sterling performance during the year 2013 KCPE.

This year, Kevin Barry has managed to score 434 marks to lead over 100 other candidates at Golden Elite School which is situated at Tom Mboya Estate within Kisumu City.

Vanesa Adhiambo has managed 431 out of the possible 500 and has become the second best pupil in the school’s ranking.

The school’s Director Charles Ochome says he attributes the good performance to discipline coupled with hard work together with team work from teachers, Parents and the pupils.

Ochome says the school has managed to prepare its candidates well for this year’s final exams and they have not disappointed them.

“We are very much thankful to our God for this great performance in this year’s KCPE by our candidates who have been well prepared to tackle the final exams,” Ochome says.

He says this year’s performance is far much better than last year’s, adding that they have developed a studying culture among the candidates.

At M M Shah Primary which is a public primary school, Reuben Ombura managed to get 444 marks placing him to be the first within the school and perhaps in Kisumu City.

Ombura says he now wants to join his dream School of Alliance High School where he intends to study to go to University.

He says he wants to be a medical doctor after his form four exams in the next four years.

At Arya Primary school, the top candidate within the school managed to get 427 while Exaverian Primary school has a candidate who have scored 429 while the leading candidate at Kosawo Primary school has 435 marks.
