KIWASCO gets a new Board’s chair.

THE Kisumu Water and Sewerage Company has a new Chair for its Board of Directors.

This is after the Board of Directors has unanimously elected Vinod Patel as news Chairman.

The new Chairman takes over from the immediate Chairman Israel Agina who retired on 23 November this year after being at the Board for 12 years.

In a press statement to newsrooms, the Board says Patel has been a Board member of the Company, and his appointment as new Chairman is expected to provide continuity in the Board of the Company as it seeks to build its business and expertise developed to date and take advantage of new and developing opportunities.

Patel was appointed as a Director of the Company on 10 November 2017 and brings to the Board a combination of expertise in strategic business leadership and stakeholder investing.

This is said to be giving him a deep understanding on key value drivers for companies in generating shareholder value.

He is said to be an experienced director and the immediate former Chairman of Federation of Kenya (FKE), Western branch.

Patel is a renowned businessman in Kisumu and a trustee at prominent institutions.

“The Board further notes with appreciation that the outgoing Chairman, Mr. Agina has been a key player as the company embarked on its transformational journey, having transitioned from the then defunct Municipal to an independent company able to sustain its operations,” the statement reads in part.
