Kisumu gets another gubernatorial aspirant to face Nyong’o

The number of those aspiring to be the Governor of Kisumu County keeps on growing as another aspirant has declared interest in the coveted seat.

Beryl Awuor Mesoh has declared her interest for the Kisumu gubernatorial seat and will face the current Kisumu Governor Prof Peter Anyang Nyong’o and other candidates in the August 9 polls.

Mesoh becomes the second aspirant to declare her interest for the seat after immediate former Chief Administrative Secretary {CAS} in the Ministry of East African Community declared his interest and has been endorsed by five opponents of Governor Nyong’o to face him in the ODM Party primaries slated for April this year.

Mesoh says she will run as an Independent candidate during the August 9 General Elections.

Addressing the press in Kisumu where he met a section of the electorates in Kisumu County to tell the agenda she has, Mesoh said she runs for the gubernatorial seat so as to help in the creation and implementation of policies that will lead to personal growth.

“I am running for this seat so that we can work and grow together as a team in Kisumu County,” Mesoh says.

She says her vision is to think on how to cut down on what she has termed as unnecessary County Government Expenditure in Kisumu County like staff trips and save such funds for supporting innovative business ideas from the people of Kisumu County.

“I am also thinking of how to get rid of bench marking trips for county officials and save such funds for building a mobile library that will deliver development knowledge to every county resident,” she adds.

She says her biggest vision is to make Kisumu County an Industrial money magnet, adding that the plan is to create economic foundations that will build the county.

“The plan is to identify businesses across Kisumu County and fund these businesses so that they can grow and build wealth and create room for more people to be employed,” Mesoh adds.

She adds that the further plan is to identify such businesses which can grow into bigger companies thus fund their growth processes, adding that she also intend to offer free business consultation services that including the idea on how to start a business within Kisumu County.

“If you have an idea on business and you don’t know how to start or build it please share it with us and we will do a market research for you freely to help you out,” she further says.

Another plan she has is for the County Government to hire land from the residents of Kisumu County is she is elected as the third Governor so as to inspire the people to engage in various agribusiness.

“My other plan is build a Kisumu Youth Program targeting the youth who have graduated from colleges and universities so as to put them in a group of ten with an aim of advising them to be business partners thus engage them through a process of building a company in their specific areas of expertise,” she further adds.

Mesoh says change is very much possible, adding that her aim is to remind the people of Kisumu County that they should demand for a better services and an inclusive Government in Kisumu County.
