Residents of Kisumu West to hold talks with politicians seeking various seats

Residents of Kisumu West Sub-County have said they will start holding talks with all kinds of politicians especially those seeking political offices within Kisumu County.

The residents led by the Chairman of Kisumu Union East Africa and Chair of Duond Kisumo said they will begin the talks as from next week to engage various politicians vying for various political seats from Gubernatorial, Senatorial and Women Representative  seats in the forthcoming General Election slated for August 9 this year.

Addressing the press at Ojolla today, the residents led by Chairman of Duond Kisumo {The voice of Kisumo} John Ombija and Chairman of the Kisumo Union East Africa Michael Obadha they must sit on the table and discuss issues with politicians so as to make informed decisions on whom to support for which particular seat.

They promise not to support any politician blindly but will do so after getting convinced of what he stands for as the country heads to the polls on August 9 this year.

They say currently there are negotiations ongoing on politics from various seven sub-counties of Kisumu County and Kisumu West Sub-county is not an exception.

“There are ongoing talks and political re-alignments in Kisumu County and as residents of Kisumu West sub-county are also inviting politician so as to engage them in discussions and we have not chosen our preferred candidates on various positions in Kisumu County,” they say.

They say there should be fruitful discussions and as residents Kisumu West they need to know what they will get during the forthcoming polls in August this year.

“Our politicians must tell us what is in it for us as the residents of Kisumu West Sub-county,” they add.

They have fully thrown their weight behind the Azimio la Umoja Leader Raila Odinga’s Presidential bid, adding that they will fully support it.

They say they will start engaging the current Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o next week then get to other politicians.
