Former CAS picked to face Kisumu Governor in ODM Party primaries

FIVE Political Opponents of Kisumu Governor have fronted one of them to face him off in the Orange Democratic Movement Party primaries in order to get the party’s ticket for the gubernatorial seat.

The five namely former Governor Jack Ranguma, Kisumu Senator Fred Outa, Former Chief Administrative Secretary Ken Obura,  Former Speaker of the County Assembly of Kisumu Onyango Oloo and former Chief of staff in Nyong’o administration Patrick Ouya have endorsed Ken Obura the immediate former Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of East African Community so as to face the current Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o in the ODM Party primaries with an aim of clinching the party’s ticket during the April exercise.

Addressing the residents of Kisumu County within the Central Business District today where they unveiled Obura’s candidature, Kisumu Senator Fred Outa said they are fully prepared to mobilize for the Presidential votes for Azimio La Umoja aspirant Raila Amollo Odinga in his fifth attempt to the Presidency in the August 9 polls.

Outa says they have resolved to back the Former Chief Administrative Secretary to square it out with the current governor Nyong’o in the ODM party primaries.

The five say they will fully be behind Obura’s bid to clinch the ODM Party’s ticket to vie for the Governorship of Kisumu County in the August polls.

Nyong’os opponents have further resolved that should the ODM Party primaries appear shambolic and Governor Nyong’o handed over its ticket then they have another plan of unveiling another candidate to face him off in the August polls.

Obura who addressed the press and the gathering immediately after his endorsement accepted the gesture and said he will work with the entire team to ensure that he clinch the party’s ticket and vie for the gubernatorial seat during the General Elections.

He has accused the current administration of destroying the livelihoods of a number of residents through demolitions of their businesses rendering them jobless.

Their decisions comes barely two weeks after they announced that they will unveil to the public the person who will face Governor Nyong’o in the ODM party’s primaries.

The team has been going round the seven sub-counties within Kisumu County to popularize their presence.
