CCP Leader claims her life in danger, records statement with the police.

THE Citizen Convention Party {CCP} Leader Grace Akumu has recorded a statement with the police while claiming her life is in danger.

Akumu who is also vying as women Representative in Kisumu County claims that a fellow candidate vying in the same position within Kisumu County is out to eliminate her after she allegedly hired 16 assassins.

Speaking shortly today after recording her statement at Kisumu Central Police Station, Akumu claims that 2 of the hired assassins are foreigners and 14 are Kenyans.

She says she got information on July 15 this year that there are plans to eliminate her ahead of the August 8 polls with the help of the hired 16 assassins.

She claims that the two foreign assassins arrived in the country via Kisumu International Airport on July 17 this year and started trailing her.

Akumu who has recorded a statement via Occurrence Book {OB} Number 23/25/7/17 says she is being trailed by the assassins with an aim of eliminating her ahead of the polls slated next month.

“This is a matter I am not taking lightly at all and I have recorded a statement with the police in regard to it so as to find out why these people are out to eliminate me ahead of the polls,” Akumu says.

Akumu claims that her growing popularity in the political arena is one of the contributing factors which have made her life to be in danger.

She says police has since beefed up her security details after she made the reports about threat to her life.

Her supporters who accompanied her to record a statement have condemned the planned assassination of their candidate for the women representative position terming it as an act of cowardice.

They have urged the police to quickly commence investigations into the matter so as to arrest and charge the suspects and the other women Representative candidate who has allegedly organized it.

“We want the police to quickly commence investigations into the matter and apprehend the suspects who want to eliminate Mama Grace Akumu,” they say.

Grace Akumu who is vying for the position of women representative in Kisumu County on Citizen Convention Party is the wife of former Trade Unionist and Former Nyakach MP the late Denis Akumu Jakogero.
