My Life is in danger, says Atwoli.

The Central Organization of Trade Unions {COTU} Secretary General Francis Atwoli has claimed that his life is in danger.

Atwoli claims that some senior politicians are out to finish him by eliminating him.
Addressing the press at Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu today, Atwoli claims that he has received reliable information that some senior people have planned to hire four hit men to finish him within a week.

Atwoli claims the threat targets his life hence has informed the Government which has assured him that he will be protected.

“There is a threat to my life from a few politicians to eliminate me and I have received reliable information about this which I have also shared with the Government,” Atwoli says.

Atwoli says he cannot take the threat lightly hence has shared it with the Government.

He says the threat emanates following what he has been saying in the recent past, adding that he will never shy away from saying the truth that the country needs.

“I know why this threat to my life. This is because I normally say what I believe is good for this nation without fear or favor,” he says.

Atwoli says a number of senior people have been threatened in the past and thereafter lost their lives and cannot take this lightly.

Atwoli says those planning to eliminate him are just wasting their time, adding that he will not be cowed from telling the truth the country needs.

Atwoli claims those behind the threat about his life are putting up communication system to make them achieve their objectives.

“As these people planning to eliminate me, they should know that I am also connected,” Atwoli says.

Atwoli says he has fully informed the authorities concerned about the threat to his life.

He adds that Kenyans needs an all-inclusive constitution and this is the best way for the country to go.

He adds that this is necessary for the country to move forward together as a nation, adding that the Bomas Draft Constitution should be reintroduced for discussions.

He further says as a Kenyan, he is entitled to his opinion  as enshrined in the Constitution.
