Governement urged to Intervene for Gichana's Release

A NUMBER  of Friends of Flamboyant Businessman Don-Bosco Gichana have appealed to the Government to intervene and ensure he is released from a foreign Prison in Tanzania.

They say the Businessman has been in person's remand in Tanzania for more seven years hence appealing  to President Kenyatta to intervene for his release.

Led by businessman and Gichana's close ally Hilary Alila, the friends have now resorted to use social Media strategy to catch Kenya's leaders attention.

Tweeter hashtag:#justice4DonBosco is now their mode of trying to reach the Kenyan leaders, most whom are Gichana's  friends.

On their target list President Uhuru Kenyatta, his  Deputy President William Ruto, former Prime Minister leader Raila Odinga and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko among others to intervene on this matter.

They have appealed to both President  Kenyatta and his Tanzania counterpart John Pombe Magufuli to see on a way forward towards the release of the Kenyan Businessman.

Alila has said both the Kenyan  and Tanzania Governments should come out openly and be able to tell what charges Gichana was facing.

Alila says it is high time even the embassies of these two Countries deliberate on this matter once and for all.

"We have seen them engage and secure release of other Kenyans who were detained in South Sudan," he says.

Peter Odhiambo says they want the leaders to come out strongly and deliberate on this matter.

He says it is wrong to detain somebody for such a number of years without trial in a foreign land.

He says they will continue to push for Gichana's freedom.

Gichana, he says, had not been charged, claiming that "justice delayed in justice denied.

For more than seven years now, flamboyant businessman Don-Bosco Gichana has waited for elusive freedom from a Tanzania remand.

His stay in the foreigners prison has been agonizing to not only his family but also his friends.

Some of the leaders whom Gichana had the privilege to run shoulders with and whose photos are shared on tweeter include Deputy President William Ruto, former  President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, ODM leader Raila Odinga and Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
