A COUNTY Executive Committee Member in Kisumu County in charge of Tourism whom Journalists had accused of using derogatory  remarks against them has apologised in writing.

Addressing the press today at a Kisumu Hotel,Alai said her response to the question was not founded on any disrespect nor was it intended to demean the Journalists.

"Let me express my apologies for my remark yesterday,in reply to a question posed by a journalist at the press conference at the county Government offices," Alai says.

She says it is indeed within the Journalists' rights to ask questions and she should have provided a better response.

"I respect your work and I appreciate your support.Your comments are duly registered," said Alai in a letter dated August 2,2018.

The apology comes barely a day after Ksm Journalists  condemned the CEC remarks and demanded an apology in written form within 14 days.
