President Ruto told Protect Devolution as enshrined in the constitution

President William Ruto has been asked to fully protect devolution as enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Kisumu Governor Prof Peter Anyang Nyongo’o while reacting on President Ruto’s Cabinet announcement at State House yesterday said two component of National unity which include regional and balance are prominent by their absence.

In a Press statement to the news rooms, the Kisumu Governor says what is most striking is that devolution is not given the prominence it deserves as a state department on its own as currently the case.

“The constitution is very clear on this.We have two major branches of Government in our Republic which is the National and Devolved Government  that  are separate and interdependent,” the Kisumu Governor says.

Governor Nyong’o says President Ruto should have respected the Principle of the two levels of Government and the separation of power while restructuring his Government.

Nyong’o’s reactions comes barely a few hours after President Dr. William Ruto named his 22 member Cabinet nominees at State House.

President Ruto met the outgoing cabinet members of immediate former President Uhuru Kenyatta before the announcement of the new Cabinet nominees.

The New Team to serve in the Cabinet that President Ruto has named now awaits Parliament to approve before commencing work.

Ruto while unveiling the Cabinet Nominees said they will implement National Transformation Agenda.
