forms six task force committees.
KISUMU GOVERNOR Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong’o has formed six
task force committees with various objectives.
Nyong’o says the task force committees will each be head by
a chairperson and assisted by a secretary and will work within a specified period.
Addressing the press on Friday during the official launch of
the Task force Committees, Governor Nyong’o said the task force committees will
help the new county Government to achieve some of its campaign pledges made
during the campaign period to the electorates within the first 100 days in
office.
Nyong’o says some of the objectives of the task force
committees is to undertake projects for the immediate needs of the county residents
and initiate the implementation of the governor’s manifesto as well as to
address institutional decay and/or institutional collapse leading to structural
reforms in their respective areas.
He says the task force committees will also help in laying the
ground for the work of the new county Executive Committee and other organs of
the Government, by setting priorities and work plans for the short-term and
medium terms.
“The task force committees will also facilitates a smooth
transition in policy and practical terms, including taking stock of assets and
liabilities in your respective task areas,” Governor Nyong’o says.
Nyong’o says the Task force committees will be required to
develop a detailed technical terms of reference based on the tasks assigned to
their respective teams.
“In addition, each team will formulate their methodology of
work and budget.In other words, we know the problems we would like you to
address and we expect you to tell us in your own understanding of the same
problems in technical terms, in the details of Terms of Reference that you will
develop,” Governor Nyong’o adds.
The various task force committees formed include Human
Resources and Effectiveness which is headed by Duncan Ochoro, Environment and
Infrastructure headed by Larry Gumbe as the Chair and Former City Manager
Dorris Ombara as its Secretary.
The other one is Revenue Collection which is to headed by
former Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga and Hezron Ng’iela as its Secretary while
Village Councils Task force Committee will be headed by Elijah Adul and Peter
Abiero as its secretary.
Pending Bills Task force committee will be headed by Thadius
Okwaro and Caroline Agwanda as its Secretary while Health Services and Health
Delivery Systems will be headed by Monica Ogutu and Abala Wanga as its
secretary.
Nyong’o has also formed a coordination committee to
coordinate all the task force committees and it will be led by the new Chief of
Staff at the Governor’s office Mr. Patrick Lumumba Ouya Aka Kalausi.
