Stop intimidating Supreme Court Judges, Nyamira leaders tells Uhuruto.

TOP Nyamira County Leaders have told President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to stop forthwith what they have termed as intimidating the Supreme Court Judges led by Chief Justice David Maraga.

The Nyamira County Leaders led by Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama, Senator Okongo Omogeni, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and his West Mugirango Counterpart Vincent Kemosi said both the President and his deputy should stop intimidating the Judges of Supreme Court for doing their work.

Speaking in Kisumu on Monday, the Leaders from Nyamira County said it is President Uhuru Kenyatta who advised the National Super Alliance{NASA} to seek recourse in court of law in event they are dissatisfied with the elections outcome.

“We wish to remind him that the Supreme Court is an independent and a distinct third arm of the Government and Uhuru must respect the constitution principles of separation of powers. We therefore castigate the attacks being leveled against Chief Justice David Maraga and the other Judges of Supreme Court, merely for discharging their duties,” they say.

They say that both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are products of the Supreme Court decision of the year 2013 that affirmed their election and they should be the last people to castigate the same Supreme Court, adding that they may also seek remedy in the same court in future.

They claim that what the Jubilee led by President Kenyatta and his Deputy is resorting to is tantamount to an incitement against Kenyans to disregard court orders which can only lead to anarchy.

“We protest at the abuses directed at the Chief Justice David Maraga by calling him mkora which is tantamount to an attack on the entire Christian fraternity and more so the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Deputy President should search his conscious that he himself is a Christian,” they add.

They further add that it is regrettable that the Jubilee has chosen the dangerous path of totally disrespecting and thrashing chapter six of the Constitution, rule of law, and honor to justice with impunity of the highest order.

“We urge the international community to impose travel sanctions on leaders who are out to disregard and show contempt for the rule of law which ultimately may expose our beloved country into anarchy,” they conclude.
