We are not calling for IEBC disbandment but Chiloba must go, Nyando MP Says.

NYANDO Constituency New Member of Parliament Jared Okello has said that National Super Alliance is not calling for the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission but its Chief Executive officer Ezra Chiloba and some Officers who allegedly messed up the electoral process must go home.

Okello says the call by Nasa Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga that some officers at the IEBC to pack and go home are very much in order and NASA will ensure that the said officers go.

Okello says after the exit of the said officers, the electoral body must now conduct a free, fair and transparent Presidential election within the confines of the constitution and other election related laws.

He says IEBC must conduct the election which will reflect the wishes and aspirations of majority of Kenyans.

Speaking during a radio talk show today morning, the Nyando MP said he has welcomed the last Friday’s Supreme Court decision to nullify President Kenyatta’s re-election where IEBC declared him the winner after the August 8 polls.

Okello says the Supreme Court did its work in accordance to the constitution and other election related laws to nullify the Presidential election results and ordered a fresh Presidential poll within sixty days.

Okello says it is not therefore right for jubilee party leaders led by President Kenyatta to criticize the Supreme Court decision, adding that they should learn to respect its decision because the constitution states that the court decision is final after hearing and determining petition on Presidential election.

Okello says he is optimistic that NASA will emerge the winner during the fresh Presidential Polls which will be held within six days as ordered by the Supreme Court.

The lawmaker says NASA Coalition will move across the country to ask for votes so that its Presidential Candidate ascends to the Presidency.

“We will move again to various parts of the country and ask for votes from the various people across the country and we are optimistic that NASA will win with a landslide without any doubt,” Okello says.

The Nyando MP has promised to give the Nasa Campaign Secretariat his first two months salary for the Presidential campaigns to help in the campaign logistics.

He says Nasa Coalition will have agents in all the polling stations across the country.
