Former Ombeyi Ward rep says he is not sabotaging his Successor.

FORMER Ward Representative for Ombeyi Ward in Kisumu County has said he is not sabotaging his successor who is currently serving his term.

Missionary Joshua Atieno Auko who served at the First County Assembly of Kisumu during the year 2013 to 2017 as Ombeyi Ward Representative in Muhoroni Sub-County said claims by the current Member of the County Assembly representing the area Vitalis Otura that he is sabotaging his work are baseless and unfounded.

Addressing the press in Kisumu today, Auko said he had done his part as the Ward representative during his tenure of five years hence has now given a chance to his successor to do his work as the current people’s representative.

The Former Ward representative said currently he is not serving as the ward rep for the said area, adding that he is not at the County Assembly of Kisumu to sabotage his successor.

He said claims that he wants the current ward rep to finish for him the projects he initiated but not completed during his time is not true.

“I want to tell my successor that never at any point have I sabotage him in his work as claimed,” he said.

He said it is prudent to complete the projects initiated during his tenure hence because the money being allocated to the projects are public money and Ombeyi residents are also tax payers in this country.

“I want to state it categorically that there are projects which we initiated during my time and they had been budgeted for hence the need to complete the by those who are now working as MCAs,” Auko added.

Auko says he is not campaigning for the seat now, adding that this is the time to do development and not politics.

“Time for politics will come when people will be judged by what they have done to the electorates. For now it is time for development,” he further said.
