Nyando MP Launch construction of shs 100M Technical Training Institute.

NYANDO Member of Parliament Jared Okello has launched the construction of a Technical Training Institute within the constituency.

The Institution which will be known as The Nyando Technical and Vocational Training Institute will be the first of its kind within the constituency being constructed by funds from the National Government and the National Government Constituency Development fund for Nyando Constituency.

 The construction site is next to Ayweyo Luora Primary School within the said ward.
Addressing the residents of Nyando Constituency within East Kano/Wawidhi Ward during the ground breaking ceremony to officially launch the construction of the institute, Nyando MP said the institution will cost a total of shs 100M that will be shared between the national Government and the NGCDF of Nyando constituency.

The Lawmaker said NGCDF Nyando constituency is set to provide shs 10Million while the rest will be contributions from the National Government.

“This is a very great project that will benefit all Kenyans from every part of this our beloved country and we must take it seriously without hesitation,” Okello said.

The MP said he personally pursued the matter from last year for the college to be brought to Nyando constituency, adding that national Government had mooted the idea of establishing the 10 Technical Training Institutes across the country.

He said only his constituency and Suba North represented by Millie Mabona got the node for the establishment of the institutes.

Okello has now urged the residents of the area so as to take advantage of the upcoming institution and start thinking on the various business opportunities around the area when it is completed.

The lawmaker added that the residents should start thinking about putting up hostels around the place where the students will stay during the time they will be studying there.

“I want to urge our people to seriously take advantage of the upcoming technical training institute in Nyando here by start thinking on various opportunities business opportunities.

The Board of Bondo Technical Training Institute is the one in charge of the project because it is an established institution.

The Nyando Technical Training Institute once completed will be able to admit about 1,200 students from different parts of the country.
