and Sanitation after the then CEC Prof Judith Atyang was transferred to another
docket.
Today the new CEC in charge of Health and Sanitation Prof
Boaz Otieno Nyunya has been sworn-in to take over the docket.
He now becomes the third County Executive Committee Member

Others who have served in the Docket include Dr. Rosemary
Obara who was sacked and was replaced by Prof. Atyang. Atyang was later
transferred to Cooperative and Marketing docket.

health hence will be able to handle it.
“I have appointed the right person and at the right time to
come in as the CEC in charge of health and Sanitation because he has been in
the field of health for a long time and have the required experience.
I had to
do a lot of persuasion and we had to give him more time to talk to his then
bosses to allow him to come and join us,” Nyong’o says.
Nyong’o calls for team work within the County Government of
Kisumu so as to help realize his goals which he has for the people of Kisumu
County.
Prof Nyunya who addressed to the media after his swearing-in
ceremony described the opportunity as a big privilege and takes it seriously.
“I understand the health system of this country like I understand
the back of my hand. I am prepared to do this work,” Nyunya says.

all the employees at the County Government of Kisumu under
