Nyong’o urges houses owners’ in Kisumu City to repaint them ahead of Summit

Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o has urged the owners of various buildings within the Kisumu City Central Business District to repaint them ahead of Africities Summit that is to be held in the Lake side City next month.

Nyong’o says everyone owning a house in Kisumu CBD and the environs to paint them with Lake Blue Colours and stripes of white ahead of the much publicized Africities Summit.

Addressing the residents of Kisumu City today during the launch of the repainting exercise, Nyong’o said this will not only improve the City’s aesthetics but will bring in the Uniformity, Cities that have done this are spectacularly beautiful.

“In order to enhance uniformity, the County is also working on ensuring that road kerbs are painted with our preferred colors of lake blue with stripes of white. We have a tight deadline and I am appealing to the owners of the building to cooperate,” Nyong’o says

To secure the success of this painting and repainting exercise, Nyong’o says his administration has initiated talks with the paint suppliers within the city to provide a workable discount to the Kisumu City residents who would like to purchase paint and painting equipment.

“Additionally, in consultation with the CECM for Finance, we are working on issuing waivers to those building owners who would like to engage in this noble exercise. To this end, I would like to thank Crown Paints for accepting to partner with us in this exercise. I hope more companies will come on board. Kisumu must shine,” Nyong’o adds.
