Government to promote drama teachers.

THE Government plans to promote all teachers who are helping to nurture various talents to pupils and students in their schools, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta says this is aimed at motivating such teachers who normally take their time in training students on issues of drama, Music and other initiatives such as narratives among others.

Speaking at Kisumu State Lodge when he attended this year’s Kenya Schools and Colleges Drama Festivals on Tuesday, President Kenyatta said it is high time to recognize those teachers who have taken their time in training the students on such issues.

Kenyatta says the promotion of those teachers will begin this July.

The Head of State says his Government is fully committed in supporting the issue of nurturing talents across the country.

He says the role played by co-curriculum activities in the country cannot be ignored.

“My administration will continue to support these festivals so as to help the children in realizing goals towards the talents they are being nurtured to pursue,” Kenyatta says.

He says more money will be put on the issue of promoting the drama, Music and other initiatives.

“My Government will increase the capitation Money towards drama and Music so as to help in enhancing the talents,” Kenyatta adds.
