Project Managers launch their society.

A NUMBER of project planners, evaluators and managers have launched their society bringing them together.

Under the banner of the International Project Monitoring and Evaluation Society {IProMES}, the project managers say this will be now their professional body representing their issues.

Speaking at Accacia Premier Hotel in Kisumu on Friday, the Society’s Vice Chair Dr. Joyce Osogo said it is a society that brings together professionals active in project planning, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation from all over the world.

She says the society was formed last year and it is registered with the registrar of Societies with the aim of injecting professionalism and best practices in the area of project planning and management.

“We want to provide a platform for interaction and information sharing among all those interested in project planning, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in the forums for the purpose of disseminating knowledge and information,” she says.

Osogo says already they have registered 60 members in Kisumu County alone, adding that the Nairobi and Mombasa chapters will soon be opened.

She says they will do the capacity building for new members while demonstrating to them sound professional knowledge.
Dr. Osogo adds that they will hold an international conference in Kisumu in June this year so as to help in taking stocks of what they have achieved as a society.
