Lobby condemns violence during electioneering period.

A LOBBY Group has strongly condemned various forms of violence during this electioneering period.

The group known as the Eye witness Kenya said various politicians should campaign peacefully during this electioneering period.

Addressing the press in Kisumu,Eye Witness Kenya President Becky Onyancha said the organization has received complaints from a number of aspiring politicians for various seats.

She said the organization is keenly monitoring the unfolding events during this electioneering period.

John Ouko, the organization’s programs officer said no politicians should misuse the young people in creating chaos while disrupting their opponent’s rallies.

He said they are monitoring every political event to ensure that they are free from violence.

Ouko said that those candidates and political parties who have a tendency of conducting their business in chaos which can bring violence then they will write a report on such for action to be taken by the IEBC.

He urged the young people to be disciplined before, during and after the polls.
“I want to urge young people not to allow themselves to be misused by politicians for their own selfish gains during this electioneering period.

He added that they have held consultative meetings with different aspirants who have in turn signed a peace deal with an aim of maintaining peace before, during and after the general elections.
