Issue of conserving Mau should not be politicized, ACK Arch Bishop says.

The Issue of conservation about Mau forest and other areas should never be politicized, a clergy has said.

The Anglican Church of Kenya(ACK) Arch Bishop Rev.Jackson Ole Sapit says politicians who are out to politicize the issue of Mau forest conservation should desist from such an issue.

Addressing the press after Presiding over a retirement service for ACK Bishop in charge of Maseno South Diocese Francis Mwayi Abiero today ,Sapit said  President Uhuru Kenyatta should never relent on the issue of conserving Mau forest and other water towers across the country.

The Clergy says without such nature being preserved, there will be no future for this nation.

"Therefore we want to urge the President not to relent in his move to conserve the Mau water towers and any other water towers in the country. This is because without such conservations there will be no future for this nation," Arch Bishop Sapit says.

He adds that the Mau water tower is very important since it is a source to many rivers hence calls for its full presevations.

"Mau complex water towers is very important since on top of it there is a swamp that provides water to the rivers which flow  downwards.Rivers like Molo,River Ndarogo,River Narok and Ewaso Nyiro among others  have their sources at Mau," he adds.

He says the preservation of the Mau water towers should be seen as a life line to many counties within the country hence should not politicize at all.

"We should see the issue of conserving Mau complex as a life line to many counties like Kericho,Bomet,Kisumu among other counties even to the neighbouring countries like Tanzania. This is because without conserving it even the tea farming in Kericho will be threatened since there will be no enough water," he adds..

He says the issue should also be enthicized in anyway by certain communities, adding that the Mau Complex belongs to all Kenyans and not a particular community which currently tries to ethnicize the issue.

The Clergy at the same time urged the President not to relent on the fight against corruption  in the country.

He adds that the President should continue with the fight against the vice since if not fought it will derail the Good agenda he has for the country.

"I want to urged the President to continue with his right against corruption in the country so that people who are culpable should be prosecuted on issues of corruption,"he further says.

He says proceeds of corruption should be brought back to the country so as to help in doing meaningful projects for the citizens of this country.

Sapit has further urged President Kenyatta to extend the issue of building bridges to all politicians and not to limit it only to a few ones.

Ends.
