Four aspirants cleared so far to run for Kisumu Central Seat.


CLEARED:Yusuf Ooro Odongo and Fred Ouda cleared to run as Independent candidate and as ODM Party respectively in Kisumu Central Constituency.Two other candidates have also been cleared namely James Waore Diang'a of Jubilee and George Weda of Farmers Party-Photo By James Keyi.

Four aspirants cleared so far to run for Kisumu Central Seat.

THE Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has so far cleared four aspirants to run for the Kisumu Central constituency seat in the August 8 polls.

The first to be cleared was George Nyambune Weda who has been cleared to run on Farmers Party Ticket and was cleared by 11:00am today on Thursday.

He was followed by Yufus Ooro Odongo who has been cleared to run as an Independent Candidate and he was cleared by noon.

The third aspirant to be declared was James Waore Diang’a who has been cleared to run on a Jubilee Party ticket.He was cleared by 2:30 pm.

The fourth aspirant to be cleared was Fred Odhiambo Ouda of ODM who was cleared by 3:00 pm.
Speaking after cleared to run for the seat, the candidates have sent passionate appeal to elect one of them to serve them as their next MP in the 12th Parliament.

Yusuf Ooro on his part have appealed to fellow candidates to embark on peaceful campaigns throughout the electioneering period.

He says the seat is one and only one of them as the candidate in the election will be elected for the seat.

Weda on his part has said that each and every one of them should be ready to sell their policies to the electorates.

He has also echoed the sentiment of his fellow candidate Ooro who has talked about the maintenance of peace during this electioneering period.

Diang’a of Jubilee Party has promised the electorates to make the Kisumu Central Constituency a model one in Africa.

He says the process of clearing aspirants at the IEBC is very fast and thanked the Kisumu Central Constituency Returning Officer for the quick service offered during the presentation of nomination papers.

Ouda is optimistic that he will carry the day as the next MP for the area thereby replacing the current MP Ken Obura Mirenga who has not defended the seat.

Clearing of the various aspirants for the Kisumu Central Constituency seat kicked off today in the morning and is expected to end tomorrow on Friday.
